Bandit Bought-Out by Pradco

September 30th, 2014

PRADCO Outdoor Brands, which manufactures fishing and hunting equipment manufacturing, has acquired Bandit Lures of Sardis, Miss. The Bandit operation in Mississippi will be shut down immediately and the business will be operated from PRADCO Outdoor Brand’s Fishing Division in Fort Smith, according to a news release. All product development and marketing functions will be managed in Fort Smith. “Bandit is an iconic brand with a strong crank bait product set for bass fishing,” Bruce Stanton, PRADCO vice president and fishing division general manager, stated in the news release. Chris Ross, owner of Bandit for 21 years, will remain as a brand manager for Bandit and will report to Stanton from Mississippi. Ross will help lead product and brand development. Stanton said Ross has done a “tremendous job with product development — particularly colors — and will be an important part of the brand going forward.” Ross stated he has “lived and breathed” Bandit. “It’s an extremely important part of my life,” Ross stated in the release. “I’m very excited that it’s becoming a part of the PRADCO family.” PRADCO Outdoor Brands is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. It operates hunting brands Moultrie, Summit, Code Blue and Knight & Hale and fishing brands Booyah, Yum, Rebel, Lindy and Bomber Saltwater Grade. Jim Winter founded Bandit in 1976 with a line of spinner baits. In 1980, Bandit became popular for its 200 Series crank baits, which has evolved into one of the “workhorse crank baits” in competitive and recreational bass fishing, the release states. - See more at: http://swtimes.com/business/pradco-acquires-bandit-lures-brand#sthash.Y6yscsZI.dpuf
